Abstract

The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of the Story Telling and Game Teaching Methods on Reducing Dysgraphia among Primary School Students. This study was an experimental one with a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of this study included all students enrolled in the Center for Educational Learning Disabilities in Marvdasht.Thirty people were selected by random sampling and were randomly placed in two experimental groups and one control group. To collect data, dictation analysis test, Stanford-Binet intelligence test, clinical interview and dictation book were used. The experimental groups received an intervention program consisting of eight 60-minute training sessions and the control group did not receive any intervention. The obtained data were analyzed using univariate covariance test. The results of analysis of covariance showed that after controlling the effects of the pretest, there was a statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the three experimental and control groups in the total score of the dysgraphia variable(F99/ 24 = ).The Story Telling and Game Teaching Methods is effective in improving dysgraphia of second grade elementary students. Therefore, teachers can use this package to improve students' performance in dictation.
