A New Approach to "world literature" in Ministry of Education textbooks (Comparative analysis of elementary, first and second period)

Abstract

In addition to its importance and attraction,"World Literature"provides students with an opportunity to get acquainted with world literature.This study focuses on the place, literary status,distribution of poetry and fiction and the life of poets and writers, focusing on the content of world literature in elementary and secondary Persian books.The findings of the research showed that there are examples from the literature of some European,Asian and American countries,but the contribution of French literature is more than all other countries with six works.40% of the texts are masterpieces of world literature,and including poets and writers,64% of the authors are among the greats of world literature.Literary masterpieces are rare in Persian primary and secondary books, but more examples of these works can be seen in the second secondary period. Contemporary and classic texts of world literature are in the form of stories in elementary school textbooks and in the form of stories and poems in secondary school. 16th,17th,18th and 19th.The necessity of revising the the selection of world literature,proportional distribution of poetry and fiction,attention to the age of the audience and more benefit from children's literature are some of the suggestions that have been presented based on the findings of the research.
