Abstract

In this paper, we have investigated four old stories from the third and fifth grade of Iranian primary school Persian textbooks with the method of linguistic analysis to explain the necessity of modernizing ancient texts in these textbooks. We first quoted the four old stories of Persian textbooks of the primary school, then, we have done a linguistic analysis on the difficulty of understanding this old texts published in primary Farsi textbooks from the perspective of lexicology, semantics, spatial, syntactic structure, and writing and spelling for students of elementary school. The result of this research showed that the content of ancient Dari texts in Farsi textbooks in the primary school is beyond the ability of students to understand. Therefore, the publication of the same ancient Dari texts, without modernizing and updating them in the textbooks of the primary school, causes the teachers and students buckle up the words, phrases and grammatical constructs which, naturally makes the learning of their forms, spelling, meanings difficult and time-consuming; while the teaching time of the Farsi lesson in the primary school is limited. Therefore, the valuable time and energy of our teachers will be wasted in vain. The ethical and humanistic themes and messages are marginalized and forgotten due to existence of ancient words and structures; while understanding and analysis of the meaning, content, thought, theme, message and structure of this text, is the main requirement for the teaching of Persian language and literature in Iran.
